Our vision is to raise the economic status of women in the area by advising and helping them to form economic groups. also, BUWEA to promote better standard of living among the women from villages who choose to be linked with the organization through the promotion of women’s right and education in information, communication and technologies as well as entrepreneurships skills

 Increase the economic power of our suppliers by offering wages as set forth in the fair-trade Agreement.
 Encourage more women to form groups for sharing experiences, learn methods and skills, and get new technologies

Welcome to Bukoba Women Empowerment Association (BUWEA)

BUWEA was established in 2001 with a total of ten (10) members. The objective of forming BUWEA was to support women economically. Immediately after forming BUWEA women were trained on how to initiate small-scale production enterprises such as livestock keeping, agriculture, low capital business, and others depending on the local environment.

Women were encouraged to collect a small amount of money on monthly bases. This money was used to give soft loans to women used to run their production activities. BUWEA acquired an official registration in 2006 with the registration number 05/NGO/0080.

Currently, BUWEA has a total of 110 groups with a total of 1,050 active members in the Kagera region. Most of its members are coming from Bukoba rural, Bukoba urban, Missenyi, Muleba, and Karagwe.

Trust also means giving priority, within the company, to real openness toward other people and the widest possible sharing of ideas and information.

FREEDOM, which means independence in thought, judgment and deeds, and entrepreneurial spirit, creativity. It also means tolerance, respect for others, for different cultures and customs.

MODESTY, that is simplicity, the very opposite of affectation, pretension, pomposity, arrogance and boastfulness. Simplicity does not imply naivety (simple does not mean simpleton!); it is more about being discreet, showing natural modesty, common sense, being attentive to others and taking the trouble to be understood by them. It is about being frank in work relationships, loosening up, having a sense of humor
